Project 365, 1st January
A series of three angry Owls. I was inspired by the Whimsical Owls swap on AFA- but once I'd completed my set of three, I fell in love with them and didn't want to let them fly!
The background on this one is green acrylic paint on a textured paper background. It was so dark I didn't know how to use it- so I got the gesso out and used a thin layer to lighten the base and give texture. The owl was drawn on watercolour paper, coloured with various media and stuck on. Strangely enough the sentences came from NME magazine- I just wanted something a little surreal......
